Jane Ann Cole

Jane Ann Cole, 78, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 1019 Bell’s Place in Wabash. She was born on April 3, 1948, in Wabash, Indiana, to Eugene E. and Eleanor Ann (Hanna) Wilson.

Jane graduated from Northfield High School in 1966. She married Michael C. Cole on February 18, 1967, in Richvalley, Indiana, and they shared a devoted life together until his passing on August 22, 2009.Jane spent several years as a teacher’s aide at Sharp Creek Elementary School, where her kindness and steady presence made her a favorite among students and staff. A lifelong member of the Richvalley Church, she sang in the choir and was active in the church women’s group. She also enjoyed her time with the Richvalley Home Ec Club. A passionate sports fan, Jane loved cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and Purdue University basketball. She gave generously of her time, volunteering with Helping Hands of Wabash County and 85 Hope. She found joy in golfing, exercising with friends, tending her garden, and listening to music. Jane was especially known for her beloved chocolate chip cookies, which she baked with care and shared with everyone around her. Above all, Jane treasured her family, who remained the center of her life and the source of her greatest joy, and she loved nothing more than attending their sporting events and activities.

She is survived by two children: Troy (Gina) Cole of Wabash, and Michelle (Alex) Brickley of Hilliard, Ohio; five grandchildren: Trae (Emily) Cole of Peru, Indiana, Grey Brickley of Columbus, Ohio, Kameron (Kylie) Cole of Wabash, Justin Brickley of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Ryan Brickley of Hilliard, two great-granddaughters: Margot Cole of Wabash, and Eleanor Cole of Peru; sister, Susie (Robert) Hampton, and brother, Gary E. Wilson, both of Wabash. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mike, and her son, Jeremy Cole.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, May 18, 2026, at Richvalley Church, 290 N Jefferson Street, Richvalley, with Jack Suits officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash.

Preferred memorials are Richvalley Church or 85 Hope.
