Linda Lou Steele, 63, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 3:36 pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by her family at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born on March 2, 1962, in Huntington, Indiana, to Donald and Goldie Ellen (Murray) Green.
Linda was a 1980 graduate of Northfield High School. She married Kerry Lynn Steele in Huntington on June 30, 1995. Linda worked for over 32 years at Ford Meter Box in Wabash, and also before her illness she was about to start a new job as an usher at the Honeywell Center, already having received her red vest. Linda was known to her friends and family as outgoing, and the life of the party. She also was known to never know a stranger. In her free time, Linda enjoyed traveling, crafting, and attending concerts. She was also an outdoors person who loved kayaking, riding her bike, hosting a good bar-b-que, and sitting by the pool. The biggest joy in her life was her family, especially her granddaughter Ellison.
She is survived by her husband, Kerry Steele of Wabash, daughter, Megan (Ryan) Starkey of Peru, Indiana, three grandchildren, Ellison Starkey and expected baby girl Starkey of Peru, and Ashton Steele of Wabash, brother, Tim (Maria) Green of North Manchester, Indiana, and two sisters, Shelley (Larry) Owen of Peru, and Marie Green of Lagro, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, John Green and Danny Green.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, January 23, 2026, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Josiah Black officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum, Wabash. Friends may call 2:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday, at the funeral home.
