David Lee Bockover, 81, of Marion, passed away in his home at 2:39 am on Thursday, May 28, 2026. He was born in Peru, Indiana, on Monday, September 25, 1944, to Arthur and Emma (Jones) Bockover.
David worked at Hoosier Metal Fabricating. He enjoyed fishing, riding his trike, and shooting pool. He had been a member of ABATE for many years. More than anything, David loved spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his sons, Jimmy (Crystal) Bockover of Marion, David Allen Bockover of Marion; daughters, Elicia Bockover of Marion, and Christia (Jaymz Shrack) Percy of Marion; grandchildren, Jamie Lee, Kayla (Brent McGahey) Wolf, Lindsey (Randy King) Wolf, Joshua Bockover, Dustin (Tyanne) Bockover, Paige (Christopher Brewer) Bockover, Raiden Litton, Jaxson Shrack, Oakley Shrack, Rylan Shrack, Brynnley Shrack, and Weston Shrack; step-granddaughter, Jaylen Somsel; great-grandchildren, Jaren, Isaiah, Grayson, Riley, Brantley, Laine, Avery, Freedom, Kade, and Blakleigh; sister, Roberta Rice; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his companion, Laura Poling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur V. and Emma M. Bockover; his wife of 45 years, Rosa Lee Bockover; daughter, Barbara Lee Bockover; daughter-in-law, Teresa Bockover; great-grandson, Hunter Thompson; and his beloved dog, Sage.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate David’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Devin Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity.
