Steven Michael Creech, 74, La Fontaine, passed away at 4:55 pm on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, January 29, 1952, to Willard and Lourine (Browning) Creech. He married Susan M. Hedrick and she preceded him.
He proudly served in Germany with the United States Army before working at Foster Forbes for over 20 years. He loved to eat, tell jokes, and make people laugh, and he was always known as a jokester. He also loved to sing and faithfully attended Sunnycrest Baptist Church. He often traveled to different churches to share devotions, and he and his wife enjoyed singing together at church services. Above all, he cherished his family and was surrounded by their love when he passed.
Survivors include his daughters, Cristie (Michael Jr.) Horn of Marion, Debra (Jason) Gillespie; grandchildren, Jordan Micheal Gillespie, Jaden (Abbie Hostetler) Gillespie, Destiny Gillespie; brothers, Dennis (Cindy) Creech, Tracey (Kristee) Creech; sister, Vickie Wilson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Willard and Lourine Creech; wife, Susan M. Creech; and grandson, Christopher A Mohan.
The family will receive visitors from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Steven’s life will begin at 11:30 am with Gary Ashbrook officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
