Michael F. Osburn, 83, Marion, passed away in his home at 11:55 pm on Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Beech Grove, Indiana, on Thursday, December 3, 1942, to Joseph and Dorthey (Mattingly) Osburn. On September 12, 2002, he married Regina Darlene Vanlandingham, and she survives.
He retired from Penn Central railroad, where he worked with his dad “Pop” and several brothers. Michael was a proud member of UAW Local 977. After retiring from General Motors, where he worked as a skilled trades welder, he enjoyed spending his time reading, working crossword puzzles, and always searching for the next “hot item.”. He enjoyed watching Westerns, especially Gunsmoke on True Grit TV.
Michael was known for his wit, great sense of humor, and intelligence, which resulted in many Trivial Pursuit victories against his kids. A true family man, he deeply loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them. Some of our most cherished memories are of family camping trips. This instilled a love for the outdoors in each of us. He was a devoted fan of Notre Dame Fighting Irish and rarely missed cheering them on.
