Lester Jr. Moore, 78, Marion, passed away at 9:16 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Marion Health. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, June 27, 1947, to Lester and Golda (Hoheimer) Moore. He married Mary Jane Sebring, and she survives.
Lester had been a member of Sunnycrest Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling, going for walks outdoors, camping, and fishing. He liked to travel and especially enjoyed his trips to Tennessee and Florida. He loved a good meal, especially going to restaurants on Fridays with his family.
Along with his wife, Mary Jane, Lester is also survived by his son, David Moore of Columbus, OH; siblings, Earlene Lester of Gas City, Martin Burdette of FL, Mervyl (Donna) Burdette of Gas City, and Carol Moore of Muncie. He is also survived by his nephew who was more like a brother to him, Bobby (Debbie) Lennens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Moore, Sr.and Golda M. Moore, and two siblings.
A graveside service to celebrate Lester’s life will be at 11:00 am on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Riverside Cemetery in Gas City, IN.
