Allen E. Timmons, 70, of Marion, passed away in his home at 1:54 am on Thursday, April 30, 2026. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, November 24, 1955, to Louie and Barbara (Boyd) Timmons. On February 8, 1997, he married Marilyn (Shafer), who survives.
Allen loved old muscle cars and had a strong interest in Native American culture. A true jack of all trades, there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix or figure out. He loved birds and took great joy in raising many different kinds over the years. He never met a stranger; he genuinely loved people and made everyone feel welcome. Known for his strong work ethic, he was rarely still, often found outside tinkering with something or lending a helping hand. He was always willing to help others fix what was broken, and he never asked for anything in return.
Allen is survived by his wife, Marilyn Timmons of Marion; children, Pat Helmer of WI, Jeremy (Kalyn) Timmons of WI, Jenifer (Buck Bates) Smythe of WI, Lessa (Robert) Bobak of WI, Chaya (Steven) Ybarra of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Megan Kidd of WI, Scott Ehmer of Gas City, SSGT Tobby Ehmer of FL, Christian Timmons of WI, Nathaniel Timmons of WI, Olivia Bobak of WI, Lily Bobak of WI, Maggie (Max) Marty of WI, ShiAnne (Ronald) Seymour of IL, Cody Smythe of WI; several great-grandchildren; nephew, Billy (Amber) Johnson; niece, Jennifer Wickman; and sister, Ada Shafer of KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie J. and Barbara Timmons; and brothers, Nicholas Timmons, Louis Timmons, and Bobby Timmons.
At Allen’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
