Sandra June Smith, 82, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 10:53 am, Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born on July 16, 1943, in Wabash, to Everett and Gleva (Walker) Sommers.
Sandy was first married to Carlos Earl Smith, who preceded her in death. She later married Terrence Smith. A dedicated entrepreneur, she owned and operated Carl Sands in Wabash. She was a devoted member of the Treaty Church of Christ and volunteered her time with the American Red Cross. Sandy loved staying active, especially through walking and exercising. One of her greatest passions was researching her family ancestry—a pursuit that inspired her to travel to England to explore her lineage firsthand. Although she was a committed business owner, Sandy’s heart was always with her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
She is survived by two children, Carl (Kelly) Smith of Wabash, and Stephanie Peri of Reno, Nevada; husband, Terrence Smith; six grandchildren: Danielle (Brent) Swan of Wabash, Skyler (Remington) Monce of Urbana, Indiana, Christian Peri, Spencer Peri, and Morgan Peri, all of Reno, and Jordan (Logan) Little of Scottsdale, Arizona; seven great-grandchildren, Colten, Brennan, and Anna Swan, River, Rye, and Rhys Monce, and Harlow Little, and siblings, David (Loretta) Sommers of Lagro, and Debby (Larry) Harmon of Silver Lake, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Sommers, and sister, Shirley Sommers.
