Jill Layman Shamory age 69, born on November 15, 1956, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Jill lived a life defined by compassion and dedication to her family, friends, and Gas City community. She had a warm and generous spirit, always offering a listening ear, a comforting word, or a helping hand to those in need. Her presence brought light and joy to everyday moments, and her laughter will be deeply missed.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose greatest pride was the love she shared with her family. Jill created a home filled with care, support, and lasting memories, and her influence will continue to guide those she leaves behind.
Jill is survived by her beloved family, including husband, Rick Shamory, daughter, Michelle Brown (Eric), granddaughters, Makana and Kamea.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Chelsea and grandson, Dylan.
Though she is no longer with us, Jill’s love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Jill’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Jonesboro Friend Church 513 S. Water St., Jonesboro, IN in honor of Jill’s caring and generous nature.
