Otis L. Glover, 68, of Upland, passed away at 3:26 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at University Nursing Center in Upland, Indiana. He was born on February 5, 1958, to Wade and Mariam (Clark) Glover.
Otis was well known and deeply loved at University Nursing Center, where many affectionately called him “Sheriff.” The nickname fit him perfectly-he carried himself with confidence, humor, and a playful spirit that made him unforgettable.
He was a devoted fan of Gunsmoke and could talk endlessly about its actors. Music was another joy in his life; he loved to sing, especially in the shower, and often played his ukulele at the front desk, bringing smiles to everyone around him.
Otis adored his wife, Juanita, and was proud to be her husband. He also had a soft spot for Ivanhoe’s chocolate milkshakes, which he enjoyed often. Funny, outgoing, and always ready with a joke, he had a gift for lifting the spirits of those around him. He loved his Heart to Heart Hospice family and his University Nursing Center family, both of whom meant the world to him.
Otis is survived by his brother, Wade Glover, Jr., along with the many staff members from Heart to Heart Hospice and University Nursing Center who cared for him and loved him like family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Glover; his wife, Juanita Glover; his mother, Mariam Glover; and his father, Wade Glover.
At Otis’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
