Drug Task Force investigation leads to multiple arrests in Gas City

GRANT COUNTY, IN- On March 18, 2026, detectives with the J.E.A.N. Team Drug Task Force conducted surveillance and enforcement operations in the area of 133 W. North C Street in Gas City following an ongoing narcotics investigation.

A search warrant was obtained and executed later that evening, resulting in the recovery of illegal narcotics, firearms, and evidence consistent with drug distribution.

Two juvenile children were present inside the residence. The Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) was notified and responded to assist with placement.

Evidence Seized:

• Approximately 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine

• Approximately 2 grams of suspected fentanyl/heroin

• Multiple firearms and firearm components

• Digital scales and packaging materials consistent with narcotics distribution

• Drug paraphernalia

All suspected controlled substances were submitted to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for testing.

Joshua Couch, 40, Gas City

• Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony)

• Dealing in a Narcotic Drug (Level 4 Felony)

• Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony)

• Neglect of a Dependent (Level 6 Felony)

Macy Lighty, 34, Gas City

• Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)

• Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony)

• Neglect of a Dependent (Level 6 Felony)

Mark Howard, 56, Gas City

• Possession of a Narcotic Drug (Level 6 Felony)

• Possession of Paraphernalia (C Misdemeanor)

• Visiting a Common Nuisance (B Misdemeanor)

Tristen Winstead, 42, Wabash County

• Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)

• Possession of a Narcotic Drug (Level 6 Felony)

• Neglect of a Dependent (Level 5 Felony)

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
