WABASH COUNTY, IN – The Community Foundation of Wabash County is pleased to welcome Haylee Parker, a Manchester University senior, as a new intern supporting the Foundation’s education initiatives.
Parker is an Educational Studies major with a counseling focus. In her internship, she will assist with the Foundation’s Imagine Early Scholarship program and First Five early childhood education initiatives that, overall, work to increase educational attainment across Wabash County. Her work includes supporting program development, attending early childhood coalition meetings, and contributing to outreach and marketing for all education programs.
“Haylee brings a strong understanding of education, student support, and community engagement,” said Julie Garber, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the Community Foundation. “Her passion for early childhood education makes her a great addition to our team, as we continue to expand an education infrastructure for our youngest children, but also for their working parents and parents’ employers.”
Joanne Case, Director of the Imagine Early Scholarship Program, added, “Internships like this are incredibly valuable–not just for students, but for the community as a whole. Haylee’s work will support our efforts to engage more families in the work of building educational assets throughout their K-12 years, so they are prepared academically and financially for training beyond high school.”
The Community Foundation of Wabash County is committed to partnerships with college students, providing experiential learning opportunities for local college students while continuing to develop and refine programs that strengthen the future of Wabash County.
