Marjorie A. “Marge” Brown

Marjorie A. “Marge” Brown, 76, of Marion, passed away at 8:29 pm on Sunday, January 18, 2026, in her home. She was born in Gas City, Indiana, on Monday, March 28, 1949, to Delbert and Martha Montgomery. On September 22, 1966, Marge married the love of her life, Roy “Dick” Brown, and they shared 53 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 3, 2019.

Marge graduated from Marion High School and worked as a laborer for 13 years with GDX in Wabash before her retirement. She was a long-,time member of Friendship Baptist Church. Marge enjoyed going to sporting events, especially to cheer on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked going to concerts and Indianapolis Indians games. Marge had great faith in Christ and devoted her life to Him. More than anything, Marge cherished the time she was blessed to have with her family and seeing the rewards of her growing family tree.  

Survivors include her son, Roy Edward (Karen Moore) Brown, Jr. of Marion, IN; daughter, Lena (Kevin) Houseman of Marion, IN; son, Denver (Andrea) Brown of Wabash, IN; Grandchildren, Brandon (Vanessa) Brown, Roy Brown III, Linda (Doug) Saylors, Kayla (Alex) Vandiepenbos, Denver “D.J.” (Amanda) Brown Jr., Jared (James) Arterberry, and Phoenix Brown; bonus grandson Brock Moore; great-grandchildren, Cyrus, Jaxon, Grace, Rose, Eli, Haven, Evie, Wyatt, and great-grandchild on the way, Serenity; bonus great-grandchild, Linux; brother, Delbert “Buzz” Montgomery; several nieces, nephews and friends; her beloved dogs, Jill and Bud and her bonus-dog Harley.

Marge was preceded in death by her father, Delbert “Jake” Montgomery Sr.; mother, Martha Montgomery; husband, Roy Edward Brown, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Melissa Brown; grandchild, Kimberly Logan; brother, David E. “Skeet” Montgomery; and her beloved dog, China.

The family will receive visitors from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church, 1921 W. Spencer Ave, Marion, IN, 46952.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Marge’s life will begin at 1 pm with Pastor Matt Castle officiating.
