Ronald L. Jones, 76, died November 21, 2025 in Florida. Ron, the son of Clifford R. and Lois M. (Launder) Jones, was born in Wabash, Indiana, on February 25, 1949. He is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Middleton, two sisters, Judy (Dan) Risk and Nancy (Richard) Fisher, both of Wabash, Indiana, and eight nieces and nephews.
Ron grew up in Wabash and was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate from Wabash High School in 1967 and from Indiana University in 1972, majoring in business. Following graduation from IU, Ron married his high school sweetheart, Nancy; they celebrated 53 years of marriage last May. Ron and Nancy moved to Florida shortly after their wedding in 1972, both beginning long teaching careers; Ron taught business courses at Charlotte High School. Along with their teaching careers, Ron and Nancy owned and operated a mowing business. Even living in Florida, Ron continued to be a devoted IU sports fan.
Fifty years ago, Ron and Nancy built a unique, two-story octagonal home on their property along a beautiful river in Florida. Ron enjoyed the weather and the many friends and cousins that lived close by, even though it meant surviving several hurricanes over the years. Ron and Nancy's children were their cats and dogs, along with other exotic animals. Ron was also an advocate for the Floridian wildlife and their environment. Ron's hobbies included boating, along with buying, restoring, and showing classic cars.
The family will gather privately in Florida, at a date to be determined, to celebrate the life of Ronald L. Jones.
