
Floyd E. Ancil, 87, of Marion, passed away at 12:30 am on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Wesleyan Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, October 13, 1938, to Meredith Ancil and Verna (King) White. On October 18, 1994, he married Edith Brown, who survives.
Floyd retired from military in both the United States Army and the United States Navy having served from 1955 -1976. He then served in Civil Service at the Sacramento, CA Air Force Base from 1976 -1993. He earned two associate degrees in electronics through the military. While in the military, he was a sharpshooter and excelled in mathematics.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Edith Ancil of Marion; stepchildren, Teena (Chuck) Foust of Texas, Carol (Ned) Atkins of Huntington; half-sisters, Vicky (Mike) Montgomery, Cindy (Marty) Taylor; as well as brother-in-law, Robert May.
He was preceded in death by his father, Meredith Eugene "Gene" Ancil; mother, Verna White; brother, Edward (Mary) Ancil; sister, Shirley (Robert) May; half-sister, Becky White; and half-brother, Larry White.
At Floyd's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
