This from wane.com: WARREN, IN— The Huntington County Coroner has identified 24-year-old Skyla Michelle Bryant of Van Buren as the driver who died in an early morning crash in Warren on Saturday.
According to a press release from the Huntington County Coroner, first responders were called to the area of 10725 South Warren Road around 1:09 a.m. Saturday for a truck crash.
Upon arrival, responders saw a truck on its side with Bryant pinned underneath.
Life-saving measures were performed on Bryant, but ultimately, she passed from her injuries. The Coroner ruled her death accidental.
In the investigation, evidence indicated that the driver was speeding south on South Warren Road when the truck veered off the road to the east and struck a mailbox. The driver overcorrected, travelling sideways for approximately 1000 feet, and overturned, crashing into the tree line and ejecting the driver from the truck. It is believed that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Debris from the crash flew through the window of a house in the area, breaking the window.
Speed and alcohol consumption are considered factors in the cause of the crash.
