Donald H. Summers, 90, of Marion, passed away at 4:14 am on Friday, June 27, 2025, in his home. He was born in Manila, Arkansas, on December 8, 1934, to Fred and Helen (McCallister) Summers. On August 17, 1957, he married Eva M. Miller, and they shared 65 wonderful years together until she was called home to Heaven on September 13, 2022.
Donald worked at Atlas Foundry and Owens-Illinois. He was a dedicated member of Faith Apostolic Church, where he took on many roles and was always willing to help with any task. Known for his generosity, Donald loved giving and doing things to help others. He was a proud Army veteran who served his country with honor.
Donald had a great sense of humor and was known for his playful pranks. He was very punctual and always arrived early to events. He had a nickname for everyone and made sure to take time for others, ensuring their safety and well-being. Above all, the greatest love of his life was his wife, Eva.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Sandy Tomlinson of Riegelwood, NC, Pam (Kevin Lindley) Summers of Kokomo, and Lois (Clarence) Hand of Marion; brother, Harold Summers of Jonesboro, AR; sisters, Wanda Barnhill of Harrisburg, AR, Mary Lee Johnson of Jonesboro, AR, and Edna Jo Summers of Truman, AR; grandchildren, Aaron (Dusty Lemons) Tomlinson, Mark (Crystal Fortner) Tomlinson, Britt (Kat) Snodgrass, II, Jevon (Josh) Elliott, Tarrah (Daniel) Mundy, and Chad (Cindy) Hand; granddaughter-in-law, Angela Tomlinson; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eva M. Summers; parents, Fred and Helen Summers; brothers, James L. Summers, John B. Summers, and Ricky Summers; grandson, Shawn Tomlinson; and son-in-law, William Tomlinson.
The family will receive visitors from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Faith Apostolic Church, 902 W. 16th St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Donald's life will begin at 11:30 am with Rev. Clarence Hand officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
