Marjorie E. "Doatzie" Mills, 82, Gas City, passed away at 11:55 pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 in Gas City. She was born in Gas City, Indiana, on Sunday, May 23, 1943, to Charles and Beulah (Garner) Eakins. She married William Thomas "Tom" Mills who preceded her in 2019.
Doatzie attended the Jonesboro House of Prayer. She was a wonderful homemaker on the family farm and enjoyed gardening. She was a foster mother to many children for over twenty years. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sisters, Georgianna Pearson and Leola "Diane" (Brian) Fields; brothers, Nate (Diana) Eakins and Steve (Helen) Eakins; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her loving husband, Tom, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. and Beulah I. Eakins; two daughters; sisters, Onnie Derssett and Margaret Walser; and brothers, Mike Eakins, Delbert Eakins and Bill Eakins.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Marjorie's life will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel. Randy Mills will be officiating with burial following at Riverside Cemetery.
