Laura Lee Vaughn, 61, of Gas City, passed away surrounded by family at 10:11 am on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Marion Health East in Gas City. She was born in Anderson, Indiana, on Friday, May 10, 1963, to Ronald and Judith (Smith) Clark.
Laura was short but feisty. She was well known for her cherry cream cheese pies. Any gatherings, she was expected to bring not just one, but several.
She had a big heart for animals, especially her beloved cat, Braxton. She was a very homey person. She enjoyed all of her many pairs of cozy pajamas, blankets, scented candles and wax melts. In the evenings, you could find her wrapped in a blanket, smoking her Marlboros, drinking a Coke or Mt. Dew while watching her favorite HGTV shows. She enjoyed long naps outside in the sun in her hammock where she would love on and welcome any and all stray cats that came along. She loved taking care of her flowers and plants.
Her biggest love was for her grand-babies, who called her "Nana", Baylee, Blake, Hayden, Jocelyn, and Kyleigh. They will remember her for always having a fountain Coke with Cherry Slushie in it from which they would steal drinks. They will also remember always joking around with her and her giving them a "good cussing!" She was so proud of each of them.
Laura is survived by her mother, Judith Clark of Gas City; sisters, Lisa (Doug) Winchester of Muncie, Jackie Vaughn-McCarty of Marion; brother, Don (Lara) Clark of Gas City; daughter, Brittany (Carroll) Ditsler of Jonesboro; son, Brad Felver of Huntington; granddaughters, Baylee Ditsler, Jocelyn Felver and Kyleigh Rogers; grandsons, Blake Felver and Hayden Ditsler; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Vaughn; and brother, Rex Vaughn.
At the family's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
