She was born in Piqua, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 12, 1931, to Ralph Trick and Ora (Atwell) Brown.  On March 28, 1959, she married Robert L. Pickerel, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1992.   Belva graduated from Anderson High School and was a claims adjuster with the Social Security office for 10 years, retiring in 1969.  She was also a saleswoman for Tupperware for four years and Avon for three years.  After her retirement, she volunteered at Marion General for 20 years.  She was a DeMolay Chapter mom for 10 years, involved in Marion High Steppers Baton & Drum Corps for five years, taught Vacation Bible School at First Friends Church, and a member of the Eastern Star, First Friends Church, First UMC, ABWA, and The Red Hat Society. Belva loved all things Mickey Mouse, listening to rock 'n' roll, and dancing.  A wonderful memory of Belva is when she dressed up as the Oscar Mayer wiener in Kokomo, as well as Bubbles the Clown. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca L. (Matthew) Conlan of Bristow, VA; son, Richard L. (Sheryl) Pickerel of Largo, FL; and grandsons, Justin L. Pickerel and Cameron L. Conlan. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Duane Trick. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Belva's life will begin at 11:30 am with Pastor Mick Simpkins and Mark Storey co-officiating.  Burial will take place at 1:00 pm at Marion National Cemetery.
