
Janice K. Coffelt, 85, Van Buren, passed away at 5:09 am on Saturday, July 25, 2026. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, November 18, 1940, to Carl and Mabel (Dilts) Cook. She married Stanley Coffelt and he preceded her.
She worked at Pierce Governor, as well as Essex Wire and local tomato factories during her career. She enjoyed tending to her garden, collecting dolls, and playing euchre. In recent years, she especially looked forward to games of Yahtzee with her daughter, Vera, and her sister-in-law, Patty. She was known for her kind, sweet, and caring nature. She actively participated in activities at the Senior Center. Above all, she cherished her family, who meant everything to her, and treasured every moment spent with them.
Survivors include her daughter, Vera (Mark) Willis of Van Buren; son, Robert “Bob” (Janet) Coffelt of Marion; grandchildren, Tia (Andy) Spears, Mark Travis Willis, Kayla Coffelt; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Max, Raegan, Ethan, Hunter, Seth, Emily, and Kennedi; special friend, Madison; beloved Chihuahua, Little Buddy Chip, loving sister-in-law, Patty Smoot.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Brice Coffelt; parents, Carl F. and Mabel Cook; sister, Linda (Dick) Smith; and brothers, Larry (Janice) Cook, Jack (Lewanna) Cook.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Janice’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Randy Smoot officiating. Burial will take place at Marion IOOF Cemetery.
