Michael Andrew Spencer, 56, passed away on June 30, 2026, at 4:16 am at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his wife and two daughters.
Michael was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on May 19, 1970, to Paul and Sharon Spencer. He was raised in Chicago, IL and moved to Marion when he was 16 years old. He graduated from Marion High School in 1988 and went on to get his Tool and Die Design Engineering degree from ITT of Fort Wayne and his Electrical Engineering degree from ABC of Indiana.
Better known as “Mike” or “Mikey”, he married his soulmate, Lisa, on April 14th, 1990. Together, they had two daughters, Ashley and Danielle, who he loved with his whole heart. Mike’s entire life was spent taking care of his family and helping others. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, had the best sense of humor and was referred by many as the “best person ever”. Mike never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughters, Ashley (Brandon) Stace, Danielle Spencer (Samuel Lutz); grandsons, Eli and Avery; sister, Lea Taucher; brother-in-law, Brian Cowgill; sister-in-law, Carolyn Daliendo; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was very loved by all.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Sharon Spencer; grandparents, Dominick and Charlotte Necastro and Allan and Dorothy Spencer; mother-in-law, Linda Cowgill; brothers-in-law, Andy Taucher and Danny “Pete” Cowgill; and sister-in-law, Deb Garner.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
