WABASH COUNTY, IN – The fifth annual Wabash Run The River, presented by Visit
Wabash County, welcomed 429 runners on Saturday, June 6, drawing participants from
eight states and two countries to experience one of Indiana’s most scenic race events.
Held along the picturesque Wabash River Trail, the chip-timed race featured 5K, 10K,
and half-marathon distances, offering opportunities for both competitive athletes and
recreational runners to challenge themselves while enjoying the natural beauty of
Wabash County.
“Race day is about much more than miles and finish times,” said Stephanie Rogers,
Race Director and Experiences Manager for Visit Wabash County. “It’s an opportunity
for people to challenge themselves, connect with others, and enjoy everything that
makes the Wabash River Trail such a special destination. Seeing so many runners
participate this year was truly inspiring.”
Participants were greeted at the finish line with enthusiastic cheers, live music, and
finisher medals, creating a festive atmosphere that extended beyond the race course.
The event was made possible through the support of local volunteers, sponsors, and
community partners.
In addition to promoting health, welness, and outdoor recreation, Wabash Run The
River continues to serve as a driver of tourism and economic impact for the county,
bringing visitors from across the region and beyond.
Cash prizes were awarded to the top male and female finishers in each race distance,
thanks to the generous support of title sponsor Chittick Insurance.
Included in the 429 participants were 36 individuals in MyTeam Triumph. “MyTeam
Triumph exists to allow people with all abilities the opportunity to experience endurance
sports, and we do that through forming a partnership between a Captain and an
Angel,” explains Todd Schindler, vice president for MyTeam Triumph Northern Indiana
and coordinator for Wabash County.
Participants traveled from as far away as Denmark, Australia, North Carolina, and
California to join this year’s race, showcasing the wide appeal of Wabash County’s
natural beauty and welcoming charm.
Visit Wabash County extends its appreciation to all runners, volunteers, sponsors, and
spectators who helped make the 2026 Wabash Run The River another memorable
success. Join next year on June 5th, 2027 for their sixth year.
