Pauline Burnett, 87, of Upland, passed away peacefully at 5:26 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at University Nursing Center in Upland. Pauline was born on December 26, 1938, in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, to Slaughter and Exebee (Wells) Goodman. She spent much of her life devoted to her family, her work, and her faith.
For 30 years, Pauline worked as a baker at Vogels Donuts, where her dedication and strong work ethic were evident to all who knew her. Outside of work, she found joy in music and loved playing the piano. She was a creative and crafty woman who enjoyed making things with her hands. Above all, Pauline cherished her family-especially her children and grandchildren-and lived her life guided by her faith in the Lord.
She is survived by her children, Roger (Deanna) Goodman, Darlene (Duffy) Smith, and Janie (Jimmy) Swisher; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Slaughter and Exebee Goodman; her husband, Mervle Burnett; her daughter, Merlene Henrick; her son, Raymond Burnett; four sisters; and one brother.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Pauline’s life will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park 1606 W. 26th St. Marion, IN 46953.
