INDIANAPOLIS- This week, National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 2026, we proudly recognize the voices behind the badge — our dedicated dispatchers and telecommunicators who serve as the vital link between our communities and first responders.
Every call answered could be someone’s worst moment… and the calm, steady voice brings clarity, direction, and hope when it’s needed most. They are the unseen first responders — coordinating, supporting, and helping ensure that help arrives safely.
Day in and day out, they work tirelessly behind the scenes to protect our citizens, assist law enforcement, fire, and EMS, and help bring everyone home safely. Their professionalism, compassion, and strength do not go unnoticed.
On behalf of the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association, we thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to keeping our communities safe.
