Kris Patrick Frieden

Kris Patrick Frieden, 61, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 3:49 pm, Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home. He was born on July 6, 1964, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Leo and Beverly (Buckingham) Frieden.

Kris was a 1983 graduate of Manchester High School where he was a multi sport athlete and held the record for longest field goal of 51 yards. He received a full ride scholarship to play football at Defiance College, transferred to and graduated from Ball State University. While at Ball State he served as president of his fraternity until his graduation. Kris worked at Huntington Reservoir fulfilling his conservation background, he also had worked at HI Grade Egg, Sunnyside, and Manchester Foundry. Kris was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two daughters: Niki (Tyler Stump) Frieden of Plymouth, Indiana, and Taylor (Allen Hunt, Jr.) Frieden of Defuniak Springs, Florida, father Leo Frieden of North Mancheter, grandson, Braxten Stump, sister, Kelly DeeAnn (Daniel) Church, niece, Sam Church, and nephew, Timothy Leo Church, all of White House, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Frieden.

There will be a celebration of Kris’ life from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W Main St, North Manchester, Indiana.

Preferred memorial is National Conservation Foundation.
