Lottie “Norena” Collins

Lottie “Norena” Collins, 80, of Ruskin, Florida, passed away peacefully at 1:40 am on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at LifePath Hospice Sun City Center in Ruskin, FL. She was born September 18, 1945, in Mill Town, Indiana, to Knofel and Lola (Flannigan) Baylor. She married Ronald Collins on May 1, 1967.

Norena dedicated many years to caring for others as a nurse’s assistant at Marion General Hospital. She was known for her compassion, strong work ethic, and her natural ability to make everyone feel seen and cared for.

Family was the center of her life. She cherished time with her siblings and loved ones, enjoyed sunbathing by the pool, watching wildlife from her deck, and relaxing with crossword puzzles. She looked forward to trips to Shipshewana and, in her younger years, loved riding motorcycles with her husband. Norena never met a stranger–she welcomed everyone as family. She was quick with a compliment, honest with her humor, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Her generous spirit and warm heart left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Some of her happiest moments were spent playing “Help Your Neighbor” and “Uno” with her grandchildren, creating memories they will forever treasure. Her gentle words, steady encouragement, and unwavering love shaped the lives of her family in countless ways. She left this world content and surrounded by love and at peace.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Collins of Ruskin, FL; and her grandsons, Caleb Mabry and Bryson Mabry, both of Ruskin, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Knofel and Lola Rachel Baylor; husband, Ronald Collins; son, Ronald “Rick” Eric Collins; 7 sisters; and 1 brother.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, Indiana. A celebration of Norena’s life will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery in Converse, Indiana.
