UPDATE: Huntington County crash results in fatality

HUNTINGTON COUNTY, IN- A two vehicle right-angle collision on US 24 east of CR 200 E in Huntington County occurred Monday, January 26, 2026 at approximately 9:50 AM.

A Jeep Liberty, driven by Patricia A. Jackson, age 58, of Huntington, was westbound on US 24 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed the median into the eastbound lanes of US 24. The Jeep entered the path of an eastbound semi-truck, driven by Aaron Amyx, age 40, of Harrison, MI, and it resulted in a “T-bone” crash. The vehicles both came to rest in the median of US 24. The driver of the semi was checked at the scene by medical personnel.

The driver of the Jeep was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her cause of death is the result of multiple blunt impact injuries, and her death has been ruled accidental. Roadway conditions are believed to have played a primary role in the crash.

The Huntington County Coroner’s Office extend their deepest sympathies to the Jackson family and friends.

The coroner’s office was assisted by the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, Markle Police Department,
Roanoke Police Department, Indiana State Police, Roanoke Fire Department, Huntington Township Fire
Department, Huntington Central Dispatch, Huntington County Traffic Team, and Parkview Huntington
Hospital EMS. Henline Wrecker Service and Woody’s Towing and Recovery assisted in the removal of
vehicles.
