Honeywell Foundation and Charley Creek Foundation merge

WABASH, IN– The Honeywell Foundation and Charley Creek Foundation are pleased to announce that the merger was finalized on December 29, 2025. As part of the merged organization, the Charley Creek Inn, including the hotel, food and beverage operations, and both retail outlets, will continue operating under its historic name as a Honeywell Arts & Entertainment venue.

The integration strengthens the longstanding relationship between the Honeywell Foundation and Charley Creek Foundation and reinforces their shared commitment to community enrichment and economic growth. It is part of Honeywell’s vision to enhance cultural and hospitality offerings in Wabash. By integrating the Charley Creek Inn, Honeywell aims to preserve the legacy of the Inn while expanding opportunities for tourism, events, and local engagement.

The agreement also advances a broader initiative between the two organizations. Previously, the Honeywell Foundation assumed stewardship from the Charley Creek Foundation of the Dr. James Ford Historic Home, the Charley Creek Gardens, and the Wabass Institute, an annual full-scholarship program for double bassists that now operates as part of the Honeywell Arts Academy, ensuring these cherished programs and landmarks continue to thrive.

Dan Ford, Charley Creek Foundation President, states, “We are pleased Honeywell will continue the vision of Richard Ford and the Charley Creek Foundation. With Honeywell’s stewardship and history of success, we trust the Inn will remain a treasured destination.”

As a supporting organization of both Honeywell and Indiana Landmarks, Charley Creek has played a key role in historic preservation and community development. Brad Ward, President/CEO of Indiana Landmarks, states, “On behalf of Indiana Landmarks, we are pleased to see this merger come to fruition. Honeywell has demonstrated a strong commitment to historic preservation through its stewardship of venues like the Eagles Theatre. With the addition of the Charley Creek Inn, Honeywell becomes the only organization in Indiana to oversee two landmarks honored with our Cook Cup for Outstanding Preservation, ensuring they continue to serve their communities for generations to come.”

“This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen our impact,” added Sally Krouse, Honeywell Foundation Board Chair. “We look forward to growing our hospitality services while continuing to honor Charley Creek’s rich history.”

“We are pleased to welcome the Charley Creek Inn employees onto the Honeywell team with the full support of our mission driven organization,” says Tod Minnich, Honeywell Foundation President/CEO. “We are focused on investing in the team, strengthening operations, and elevating the guest experience, in partnership with Charley Creek leadership, while honoring the Inn’s historic legacy and ensuring it thrives as a vital part of Wabash’s cultural and economic future.”

Howard Kaler, General Manager of the Charley Creek Inn, adds, “It will be my priority to lead the existing Charley Creek team as we align teams and services. I am excited about the collaboration opportunities through this partnership.”

Day-to-day operations at the Charley Creek Inn will continue without interruption. In the months ahead, Honeywell will work closely with the Charley Creek team to integrate operations and build on shared strengths.
