
Elizabeth Ann Vrooman, 92, of Fishers, Indiana, formerly of Wabash, Indiana, passed peacefully at 2:54 pm, Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Hamilton Trace Assisted Living in Fishers, Indiana. She was born on February 19, 1933, in Wabash, to J. Howard and Bernice (Kamp) Hetzler.
Betty was a 1951 graduate of Wabash High School. She married James David Vrooman at the Bachelor Creek Church of Christ in Wabash on July 3, 1954. Betty and Jim were former members of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ and current members of the First Christian Church in Noblesville. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau, the Woman’s Clubhouse, Wabash Musicale, the Indiana Symphony Board and the Falls Cemetery Board. Betty volunteered at Riverview Hospital from 2005-2020. She was an avid seamstress, and she loved sewing and crafting.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Vrooman of Fishers; two daughters, Cathy L. (Brian) Crosley of Noblesville, Indiana, and Cindy J. Moon of Indianapolis, Indiana; three granddaughters, Sarah Crosley of Noblesville, Katie Crosley (Gavin) Beem of Accokeek, Maryland, and Emily Moon of Danville, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Samuel Beem and Lillian Beem; and her sister, Dorothy Merrick of Wabash. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Hetzler; and her sister, Jean Waymire.
Graveside services will be private at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
Preferred memorial is Wabash High School Class of 1951 Endowment.
