Chandra K. Brown, 47, Marion, passed away at 8:30 am on Saturday, November 1, 2025. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Wednesday, January 11, 1978, to Ronald Gene Brown and Doris Ann (Morrison) Brown.
Chandra graduated from Lakeview Christian School and attended Academy of Cosmetology in Marion.
Chandra started her career as a hairdresser at Sensational Hair and Nails, then served at High Voltage, before achieving her dream of having a shop of her own. She played piano for the Lord at Healing Heart Church of God, pouring her heart into every note. She loved being a beautician-it wasn’t just a job; it was a way to make people feel good about themselves. Her family meant everything to her, and just like her dad, she found joy in fishing. She had a servant’s heart, always looking for ways to help others and show God’s love through her actions. When cancer came, she prayed for a miracle-but she also found peace in knowing she’d soon see her Savior face to face. And if you were lucky enough to be her friend, you knew: she was the "bestest friend" in the whole wide world.
Survivors include her daughter, Matraca Harris of Gas City; sister, Carmen Renee Williams of Marion; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as her beloved pet, Rudy.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ronald Gene and Doris Ann Brown; daughter, Jami Skye Harris; and her grandparents.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Chandra's life will begin at 12:00 pm with Pastor Wally Champion officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory - Marion.
