Single vehicle crash claims life

WABASH, IN- On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at approximately 1:55 p.m. Wabash Central Dispatch was notified of a single vehicle crash, with utility lines down, in the area of Old 24 & County Road 200 South (Higley Curve).

The preliminary investigation shows that Jeffrey Sexton, 55, of Wabash, Indiana was operating Vehicle-1 (V1) and traveling westbound on Old 24. V1 continued westbound onto CR200 South and for unknown reasons V1 ran off the north side of the roadway, overcorrected, re-entered the road, traveled of center, crossed the opposite lane of travel, ran off the south side of CR200 South, struck a set of guy wires (causing a utility pole to snap), and then struck a large tree head-on where V1 finally came to rest. Jeffrey Sexton was the lone occupant of V1 and was determined to be deceased at the location of the crash by Wabash County Coroner, Ken Brown.

This crash, and the causation factors that may have contributed, remain under investigation. There is no further information to release as this time.
