Carl Allen Cooper

Carl Allen Cooper, from Marion, Indiana, born May 25, 1957, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025.

Carl proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the National Guard. Throughout his life, he worked hard and held many roles, including at a glass factory, as “The Boat Doctor,” and as a semi-truck driver. His dedication and strong work ethic carried through everything he did.

In his free time, Carl enjoyed hiking, spending time outdoors, and being with his family, who meant the world to him. He will be remembered for his love of nature, his stories, his laughter, and his devotion to being there for the ones he cared about.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Carl is survived by his children: Autumn Cotton and Adam Jordan; grandchildren: Jan Jordan, Rickey Burnsworth, Lyric Riley, Eric Jordan, Cheyanna Cooper, Kaysia Cotton, Brittany Jordan, Miranda Phillips, Zachary Phillips, and Sarah Phillips; siblings: Sherri Smith, Rhonda Brummet, Greg Cooper, Phil Cooper, Joey Cooper, Cena Valincourt, Jackie Johnston, and Raymond Cooper; and nephews: Kevin Lomely, James Smith, Philip Smith, and Johnny Smith.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Vincent and Eugene Riddle; his daughter, Julie Phillips; his brother, Timothy Riddle; and his sister, Barbara Lomely.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Carl's life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.  Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity.
