This from Ink Free News: WARSAW, IN — A Peru woman is facing a theft charge for using another woman’s debit card to withdraw cash for herself.
Jolene Stephanie West, 50, 106 W. Sixth St., has the charge, a Level 6 felony.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of theft in March 2025.
The deputy spoke with a woman who said West was allowed to use the woman’s debit card to run errands for her. The woman provided the deputy with bank statements, which detailed the theft.
The woman had previously reported the theft to the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department.
A Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office detective spoke with a counterpart at the WCSD who gave bank statements and videos of ATM withdrawals when West used the woman’s debit card. Between Jan. 3, 2025, and Feb. 24, 2025, West withdrew $760 from the woman’s account.
The KCSO detective later spoke with the woman who said she allowed West to use her debit card twice for groceries.
West was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 25 on a $7,500 bond.
