Betty Jean Middleton, 94, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 3:30 pm, Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born on April 3, 1931, in Brazil, Indiana, to William Everett and Lorene (Knox) Evans.
Betty was a 1950 graduate of Wabash High School. She married Walter Middleton, Jr. in Wabash; he died March 11, 1989. Betty worked at General Tire, Rhodes Insurance Company both in Wabash, and was a Volunteer at Wabash County Hospital for many years. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, AARP, and the American Legion Auxiliary all in Wabash. In her pastime Betty enjoyed bowling, putting out a garden, and reading, especially her Reader's Digest. She also enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and IU basketball.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy J. (Ronnie) Jones of Punta Gorda, Florida; three grandchildren, Shannon (Aaron) Williams of Cave Creek, Arizona, Sharris (Frank Ybarra) Middleton of Mesa, Arizona, and Matthew (Sonya) Middleton of Ohio; six great-grandchildren, London Middleton of Defiance, Ohio, Alexa Ybarra of Mesa, Kiran Williams, Kyla Williams, Kalei Williams, and Kaycee Williams all of Cave Creek. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, David "Craig" Middleton, three brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Friday, July 25, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Jay Driskill officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call 9:00 - 10:00 am Friday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Christ United Methodist Church.
