Cole Porter Festival receives $2,700 Grant from Miami County Community Foundation

PERU, IN- The Miami County Community Foundation has awarded a $2,700 grant to the Cole Porter Festival to support outdoor stage performances and the purchase of essential equipment. The funding, made possible through the Miami County Community Fund, will enhance the festival’s operations, guest experience, and long-term sustainability. “Thanks to our community-minded sponsors, including the Miami County Community Foundation, this year’s Cole Porter Festival continued the three-year trend of increased awareness and driving attendance from a wider geographic map,” said committee member Kati Roberts. “Visitors came from Chicago, New York, California, multiple other states, and as far away as England. While rain on Friday put a small dent in the outdoor Music Stage schedule, we were back in action with great crowds on Saturday. Our wide array of indoor Special Events saw record-breaking attendance across the board, with fantastic reactions and compliments from attendees.” The Foundation’s support allowed the festival to expand its operational capacity through the purchase of additional Square point-of-sale devices, extension cords for food truck power and lighting, and a bounce house addition to the Music Village. The grant also funded technology for more effective digital sponsor recognition and year-round planning, including flash drives and SSD storage. Remaining funds helped secure top-tier Hoosier musical talent for the free outdoor Music Stage, including Abbie Thomas, Shiny Shiny Black, Speakeasy Boys, and Lineage. This grant was made possible by generous donors to the Miami County Community Fund. Right now, every dollar donated to the fund is matched with an additional $2, tripling your impact. Gifts to the fund support vibrant programs like the Cole Porter Festival and help make Miami County a more enriching place to live, work, and visit.
