Jessie Robert Henry Gressley

Jessie Robert Henry Gressley, 77, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 5:02 pm, Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on July 1, 1947, in Wabash, Indiana, to Sherman and Nora (Bone) Gressley. Jessie graduated from Northfield High School and Heartland Career Center in 1965. He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Fort Hood, Texas. On December 27, 1968, he married Mary Gray in Huntington, Indiana. He worked at Celotex in Lagro and Ford Meter Box in Wabash for 33 years, and worked for Harrells Home Salvage. He also owned Kruisin Oldies D.J. Service since 1991. Jessie loved antique cars; he was a member and President of Rebel Rousers Car Club, and was a member of the Crown Victoria Association. Jessie was also a member of Lagro Volunteer Fire Department, Lagro American Legion post 248, and Moose Lodge. He loved working with organizations for children, going to yard sales, enjoyed his 50's and 60's music, gardening, talking on the telephone, and being around people. He was a great friend, and did not know a stranger-Jessie would help anybody in need. He is survived by his wife, Mary Gressley of Wabash; two children, Tony Robert Gressley of Lagro and Dawn Marie (Jim) Legg of LaFontaine, and two sisters, Lena "Chicken" (Bill) Gray and Bernice Gressley, both of Lagro. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as an infant child. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Bill Burnsworth officiating. Burial will be in Lagro Cemetery, Lagro. Friends may call 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is Lagro Volunteer Fire Department.
