Joseph Charles Alexander “Charlie” Warner

Joseph Charles Alexander "Charlie" Warner, 85, of Gas City, passed away at 8:52 pm on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Marion Health. He was born in Dayton, Kentucky, on Sunday, September 10, 1939, to R. LeRoy and Thelma (Diehl) Warner.  On August 2, 1996, he married Sandra Sue (Glover) Jeffries-Warner, and she preceded him in death on June 9, 2015.   Charlie graduated from Bennett High School in Marion and took welding courses at Owens-Illinois. He worked in a variety of roles including maintenance for 44 years with Owens-Illinois/PCA before his retirement. Charlie was an avid bowler for many years and bowled in leagues in Gas City.  He liked to play Corn Hole and Euchre with his family and friends. More than anything, Charlie cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Charlie was loved by everyone who met him and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He had a rare gift for finding joy in every situation and bringing others along with him. Being around him just made life better. Survivors include the mother of his five children, Judith Lee Warner; children, Michael A. (Leticia) Warner of Pensacola, FL, Mark E. (Cheryle) Warner of San Diego, CA, Paul Alexander Warner of Gas City, Melissa L. Warner of Marion, and Heather L. (Shawn) Jeffries of Marion; grandchildren, Stephanie K. (Ben) Lewis, Aaron M. (Charmie) Warner, Michael A. Warner, Jr., Susan L. (Tony) Romero, Joseph L. (Nelly) Warner, Tiffany N. (Austin) Mefford, Emilee M. Smith, Abbi B. Swafford, Briana S. (Autry) Weaver, Haley M. Weaver, and Corbin W. DeBruler; 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his loving wife, Sandra Sue (Glover) Jeffries-Warner, Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kim D. Hevner; infant twin sister, Charlamaign; siblings, Betty, Fred, Ann, Jim, Tom, and Ralph "Tony"; and his beloved dog, Flash. Burial will take place 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Grant Memorial Park, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN. Pastor Tom Mansbarger will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cancer Services of Grant County, Tower Suites, 305 S. Norton Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
