LeRoy Eugene Newman, 94, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 7:45 pm, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 10, 1930, in Peru, Indiana, to Jess and Lula (Whitesel) Newman.
LeRoy was a US Army veteran. He married Ruth McGinnis in Wabash on March 21, 1958. LeRoy worked and retired from the Wabash County Highway Department. He was a member of the Lagro American Legion Post 248, the Wabash V.F.W. Post 286, and the Wabash Elks Lodge #471. In his free time, LeRoy enjoyed working on cars, working, but especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Newman; daughter, Mary (Jason) Jacques; daughter-in-law, Teresa Newman; three grandchildren, Zach Newman, Katie Newman, and Danielle Newman; and two great grandchildren, Makenzie Bradford and Josie Bradford, all of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Randy Newman and Donald "Donnie" LeRoy Newman; grandson, Thomas Bradford; and several brothers and sisters.
