Blandy Scott Hanley, 68, passed away on June 3, 2025, leaving behind a world that will no doubt be a little less gentle without him. He spent 47 unforgettable years with his devoted life partner, Danny Remington, who laughed with him through a lifetime of clever remarks, shared smiles, and moments that didn’t need words. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Precious, who never minded his mood as long as the treats kept coming.
Born on January 5, 1957, to Larry and Linda (Miller) Hanley, Blandy was a hard-working man who did things his way--always. He was ornery, sure, but never without heart. Blandy was a deeply loyal soul who showed his love through actions more than words but also never ended a phone call without saying he loved you.
Blandy will be remembered with a smile by those who truly knew him. His presence was a force, his humor dry as dust, and his love was steady and true. He loved gardening, collecting antique glass, interior design, and cooking for family and friends. Whether with his hands or his heart, he made things beautiful.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Linda Hanley; brothers, Allen Hanley and Brett Hanley; and sister, Darlene Hanley.
He is survived by Danny Remington; step-children, Stephen (Karla Copeland) Remington and Stephanie Remington; his beloved Precious; and a host of special neighbors and many special friends, including but not limited to: Pam, Greg, John, Sally, Wanda, and Bax. Also surviving are two sisters, Ellen Laws and Peggy Crotts.
Per Blandy’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be scheduled with his closest friends and family in the days ahead.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do something nice for someone--then act like it was no big deal. He would’ve liked that.
