Lucinda LeeAnn Yanez

Lucinda LeeAnn Yanez, 70, of Marion, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 6:11 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born on February 19, 1955, in Marion, she was the beloved daughter of Abelino and Patricia (Davis) Yanes. On January 23, 1971, she married the love of her life, Juan F. Yanez, who survives. Their love story began when Juan was just 13 and Lucinda was 11, and from that moment on, they were inseparable. Lucinda attended Marion High School and briefly worked at RCA before dedicating herself fully to her family--a role she embraced with unmatched devotion and grace. She was the heart of her home, always bringing loved ones together, whether for a holiday or a simple mid-week dinner. Her greatest joy came from being a wife, a mother, and especially a grandmother. Lucinda had a passion for gardening and took pride in canning the fruits of her labor. Known affectionately as a “princess” by those who knew her best, she carried herself with warmth, kindness, and a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Juan; her children, Nichol (Shane McVoy) Cardwell of Huntington, IN, Jose "Joe" (Trisha) Yanez of Gas City, IN, and Jaime (Nicole) Yanez of Gas City, IN; her cherished grandchildren, Thaddeus Cardwell, Julia (Connor) Wike, Dominic Cardwell, Kaleb McVoy, Izik Brummett, Elijah Yanez, Madelyn Yanez, Annabella Yanez, Sophia Yanez, Amelia Yanez, and Kaison Brubaker; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Victoria (Manuel) Ramones of Windfall, IN, and Tracy (David) Scalley of Summitville, IN. Lucinda’s legacy of love, family, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death her parents, Abelino G. and Patricia R. Yanes. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Lucinda's life will begin at 1:00 pm.  Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
