WABASH, IN- Opening weekend of the 2025 Downtown Wabash Farmers Market kicked off on May 10th in Downtown Wabash. The market, led by Downtown Wabash, Inc., a Nationally-Accredited Main Street Organization, will embark on its 18th season under the organization’s newest events manager, Mikka Hunt.
“We’re so excited to kick off the season this year,” Hunt said. “We’re very fortunate to partner with the Honeywell Center to be able to offer the market in their parking lot, which is expanding our market capacity to hold more than 50 vendors each weekend.”
More than 50 area vendors will participate in the 2025 season of the Downtown Wabash Farmers Market. Vendors featured each week will bring a variety of handmade, homemade and homegrown products including fresh produce, meats, dairy products, homegoods, baked items, plants and artisan wares.
Shoppers are invited to experience festivities beyond vendor offerings, such as live music, food trucks, Kids Corner activities, demonstrations and more. The family-friendly atmosphere includes every member of the family, as pets are always welcome.
“I’m pretty excited to witness the support that this community brings to our market,” Downtown Wabash, Inc. Executive Director Shane Waters said. “This will be the first market I’ve helped coordinate alongside Mikka. We hope to bring more excitement to the market every weekend this season, and that starts with the support from our community.”
Shopping at the Downtown Wabash Farmers Market supports entrepreneurs from Northeast, North Central and Northwest Indiana. “As a consumer, you’re a key part in helping small businesses and communities thrive. By shopping or dining at small businesses throughout the year, you’re showing your support for the small businesses in your neighborhood. According to the American Express 2022 Small Business Economic Impact Study, with every dollar spent at a small business in the US, 68 cents stays in the local community.”
The market also offers Double Up Indiana Programming for SNAP customers, offering free fruits and vegetables when they use their SNAP/EBT card. For each $1 spent in SNAP at the market, customers earn $1 in Double Up incentives to buy fruits and vegetables at the same market. Each customer is limited to earning $20 per day in Double Up incentives. These programs play a crucial role in fostering inclusivity and accessibility within the community.
Shoppers and market-goers can attend the 18th season of the Downtown Wabash Farmers Market for 21 consecutive Saturdays from May 10 to Sept. 27 between 8 a.m. and noon.
