Scott Lee Parker, 59, of Marion, Indiana passed away surrounded by his loving family May 1st, 2025 around 9:50 AM. Scott was born March 26, 1966 to the late Rita McMullen and Charles Parker. Scott lived a life full of love, hard work, and a deep devotion to his family.
Scott was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Julia Owings and their son, Kristopher Parker; as well as his brother, Mike Parker.
He was a proud and loving father to Heather (John Thompson) Parker, Amanda Parker, Jarrid Parker, and Christopher Corlis. With his devoted wife, Patricia Parker, he expanded his family and found joy in raising Kayla (Chris) Butche, Cortney (Luke) Colvin, Arianna (Dewey) Shrout, Justin (Rhianna Gary) Parker, and Jonathon (Abby Brown) Parker. He was affectionately known as "Papaw" to his many grandchildren: Makenzie (Dylan Fritch) Thompson, Kyler Thompson, Kaliq and Kevaunte Simmons, Zy'Aira Walker, Jaylin, Rylin and Izik Parker, Brennan (Jaylie) Butche, Alexei Butche, Cooper and Evelyn Colvin, and Bodie Shrout. His legacy also lives on through his cherished great grandchildren: Elloree and Brooks Butche, and Brynleigh Fritch. He is also survived by his sister, Michelle Rollins; brother, Bobby Parker; and step-dad, Thomas (Paula Miller) McMullen.
Scott made a lasting impact through his career at Ashmore Heating & Cooling, where he was known for his dedication and craftsmanship. He had a special talent and love for working on cars at Walkers Bodyshop and FinCannon Ford, taking great pride in restoring and fixing them. Scott started his car hobby by fixing race cars with his father, Chuck, and racing them at Bunker Hill. A true outdoorsman, Scott found peace and joy in nature. He loved spending time camping and fishing with his family and close friends. His warm heart, strong hands and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Scott's life will begin at 12:00 noon. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
