UPDATE: Victims identified in double shooting in Huntington County
UPDATE: HUNTINGTON COUNTY, IN- Richard L. Henline, Jr., age 80, of 1205 Allen Street, Roanoke, Indiana is the victim of a shooting that occurred at his residence on Thursday evening at approximately 9:08pm. Brandon L. Henline, age 46, and the decedents son who was residing at the same residence is the reported shooter. It is believed an argument triggered the incident.
The cause of death for Richard Henline is multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide. The cause of death for Brandon Henline is a single gunshot wound, and the manner of death is suicide.
ORIGINAL RELEASE: HUNTINGTON COUNTY, IN- Huntington Central Dispatch received a 911 call around 9:08 PM on May 1, 2025,
reporting a shooting that had occurred at a residence on Allen Street in Roanoke,
Indiana. Responding units arrived to find two male victims suffering from gunshot
wounds inside the residence. Both victims were treated at the scene and transported to
a Fort Wayne hospital in serious condition where both were subsequently pronounced
deceased a short time later. Detectives from the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office,
Huntington Police Department, Indiana State Police CSI, and the Huntington County
Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident.
The investigation is ongoing with the Huntington County Sheriff's Office, Indiana State
Police CSI, and Huntington County Coroner’s Office. The coroner’s office will identify
the deceased individuals after autopsies have been conducted and family members
have been notified.
The sheriff's office was assisted by the Indiana State Police Troopers and CSI,
Huntington Police Department, Roanoke Police Department, Roanoke Fire Department,
Parkview Huntington Hospital EMS, Huntington County Coroner’s Office, and
Huntington Central Dispatch.
