Katelyn Blinn

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katelyn Blinn, a beloved friend, sister, daughter, granddaughter, aunt, and mother. She leaves a legacy of adventure, fierceness, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Katie passed peacefully at home early on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, after a nine-month-long battle with breast cancer. Katie was a proud graduate of Indiana University, and, if it was up to her, we would all be listening to “This is Indiana” right now. Katie binge-watched every Hallmark movie known to women and could quote every line. Katie was always traveling, catching flights not feelings. She loved stepping out of her comfort zone and exploring new cultures, foods, and experiences. Her travels took her to all seven continents before her 30th birthday. She then brought the adventure home, and she would tell you that her greatest accomplishment in life was her son, Oliver. Katie created a family of both blood and friends. She found her tribe and she loved them hard. Katie saw people for who they were, and she was not afraid to call them out on it. In fact, her favorite thing to say to her mom and Aunt Julie was “You two are ridiculous.” Whether in a crowded room or one-on-one, people were naturally attracted to Katie’s sass, expressive language, and infectious energy. Katie is survived by her father and mother, Edwin and Lisa Blinn; her son, Oliver; twin siblings, Evan (Vanessa) Blinn and Emily (Sam) Ramsey; nephews, Wyatt and Jackson; as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Katie’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her and in all of the independent women she inspired. May Katie rest in peace. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Katie’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Michael Tabor officiating.  Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.  A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at The Elks. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cancer Services of Grant County, Tower Suites, 305 S. Norton Ave., Marion, IN 46952. Memories may be shared online at www.nswcares.com.
