Grant County, IN – On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, two people were arrested after leading an ISP Trooper on a pursuit in Grant County. Just after 2:00 p.m., Trooper Edward Titus was patrolling State Road 22 near State Road 15 in Grant County when he noticed a 2012 Ford Explorer and discovered that the license plate was reported stolen. Trooper Titus attempted to stop the Ford; however, the driver, Joshua L. Balfour, 22, from Marion, IN, failed to stop and fled northbound on Adams to 37th Street. The pursuit continued west on 37th Street until the vehicle stalled and stopped near Landess Street. Balfour and a passenger identified as Ny Zell McCreary, 23, Marion, IN, were taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the Ford revealed multiple weapons, a large amount of ammunition, suspected marijuana, and suspected fentanyl. Further investigation revealed Balfour and McCreary had active warrants out of Delaware County. They were transported to the Grant County Jail. - Theft- A Misdemeanor
- Operator Never Licensed- A Misdemeanor
- Reckless Driving- C Misdemeanor
- Delaware County Warrant
Titus was assisted by officers with the Grant County Sheriff's Office and the Marion Police Department.
