She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Saturday, December 7, 1946, to Clarence and Nellie “Naomi” (Johnston) Spencer. On October 21, 1967, she married the love of her life Bernard “Lowell” Rennaker.
Janis graduated from Oak Hill High School and Indiana Business School.

Janis enjoyed puzzles, reading, sewing, woodworking, and gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially cheering on her grandchildren at their activities including marching band, baseball, softball, football, and basketball.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard “Lowell” Rennaker of Marion; sons, Mark (Kari) Rennaker, Bradley (Stephanie) Rennaker; grandchildren, Michael, Joel, Tyler, and Mya; brother, Reggie (Koletta) Spencer, as well as several brother and sister in laws, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence E and Nellie “Naomi” Spencer.
