Victoria “Vickey” Lynne Boyer passed away peacefully in her sleep at 7:00AM, Monday, August 10, 2026 at Blair Ridge Health Campus in Peru, IN. Vickey was born to Dale and Wilhilmena Frazier in Goshen, Indiana on September 13, 1948.
She graduated from Nappanee High School in 1966 then attended beauty school. Her dream in life was to be a devoted wife and mother-she succeeded at both.
Vickey married Arden Boyer on September 29, 1967 at the Union Center Church of the Brethren. They raised 4 children together while living in Nappanee-Jeff (Jamei) Boyer, Cheryl (Doug) Schrock, Carol Boyer, and Aaron (Michelle) Boyer. They had 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
After their 4 children were adults, Vickey and Arden became foster parents and adopted Nathan in 2000. He was the first child placed with them.
Vickey loved children! She was gentle and kind and is remembered for her welcoming home, cozy lap, warm smile, meaningful hugs, and loyal devotion to those she held dear. She was a gentle, genuine, compassionate friend to many, always living life with authentic integrity. She had a special bond with her sister-in-law, Sharon Boyer, who was very much like a sister to her for nearly 6 decades. Her faith was important to her. Throughout her adult life she was a regular church goer, attending services at the Nappanee Church of the Brethren, Nappanee Missionary Church, Olive Branch Church in RoAnn, and Bachelor Creek Christian Church in Wabash. She loved music and being part of the church choir.
Vickey spent much of her adult life in Elkhart County, living in Nappanee and then Goshen. In 2008 Vickey and Arden moved to Denver, IN where they resided until December 2023 when they moved into Blair Ridge in Peru, IN.
Vickey was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s several years ago. Regardless of how impacted her memory was, she remained passionate about babies, kids, pets, sweets, and flowers. She enjoyed looking at pictures of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their pets, while eating frosted sugar cookies during visits from her children.
Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren survive her. Also surviving her are 2 sisters and their families, along with several nephews and nieces. Eighteen months ago she was preceded in death by her husband, Arden Boyer. Her parents also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, 2147 N. State Road 15, Wabash, with Joel Cogdell officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver. Friends may call Monday, August 17, 2026, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash.
