Sandra Lorraine Sheposh, 72, of Wabash, Indiana passed peacefully from this life at 8:45 am, July 10, 2026 surrounded by her 4 children, Acacia, Annalissa, Nathan and Jerusha and grandson Will.
Born on July 15th, 1953 in Seymour, Indiana to Robert and Patricia (Ferguson) Hattabaugh, “Sandy” was an avid student of life, boarding at God’s Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio until her high school graduation in 1971. She completed her baccalaureate degree in education at GBS in 1977 and went on to become an elementary, junior high and high school teacher throughout her 40-year career.
Sandra was a strong, kind and thoughtful woman, possessing unyielding faith in Jesus Christ. Known by many as a “beacon of light in the darkness,” she was mother to 5 children into whom she poured her life, faith, talents, intellect and creativity. A lifelong learner, Sandra pursued education in every avenue of her existence and was a pillar of the faith community wherever she resided. As an ordained, Christian minister and pastor’s wife, she composed musical programs for choral groups, children’s ministries and church celebrations. She was founder of community theater and outreach organizations such as Salt and Light Players and the Center for Women’s Ministries of Hamilton County as well as co-founder of CWS homeschool group.
A gourmet cook, Sandra loved to host dinners, British high teas, soirees and gatherings which she would often pair with group theological discussions, intellectual studies, cultural explorations and musical pursuits. She often sang hymns and spiritual songs or quoted poetry while she worked at tasks as well as at church during choral and solo performances. Sandra was a voracious reader, classical and liturgical music enthusiast, talented pianist with a natural ear, art, beauty & culture aficionado, Hebrew & Rabbinic literature student, wildly-skilled-amateur interior designer, informal poet and writer with a brilliant mind & refined style. She was a private individual and often went out of her way to help others in need, often in secret or without recognition.
Sandra is survived by five children: Acacia (Bill) Lliorca, Annalissa (Zach) Brown, Alecia (Andrew) Wall, Nathan (Kaila) Sheposh and Jerusha (Caleb) Swerens. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 siblings.
