Cathy Sue Ramsey, 74, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 11:41 am, Sunday, June 28, 2026, at her home. She was born on February 6, 1952, in Wabash, Indiana, to Carl and Helen (Armstrong) Aukschun.
Cathy was a 1970 graduate of Wabash High School. She married Darrell Ramsey at the Methodist Church in Wabash on June 26, 1971. She worked for Walmart for many years before retiring. Cathy was deeply artistic, able to free-hand sketches with a natural talent that set her apart. She enjoyed painting and crafting, often filling her home with handmade pieces that reflected her creativity and care. When she wasn’t working on an art project, she loved being outdoors tending to her flowers and keeping her garden looking beautiful. Caring for her plants brought her peace, and she took pride in watching them grow. More than anything, Cathy treasured time with her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and the moments she spent with them were the ones she held closest to her heart.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Ramsey of Wabash, four daughters: Tina (Troy) Hartman of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Natalie (Michael) Gordon, Amanda (Chad) Bakehorn, and Cristin Price, all of Wabash, nine grandchildren: Dalton (Brittany Lewis) Hartman, Cooper Hartman, Hailey (Cory) Lambert, Mackenzie Gordon, Addison Bakehorn, Josie Bakehorn, Emree Bakehorn, Aaliyah (Derek Thurman) Ramsey, and Abel Price; three great-grandchildren: Emberly Hartman, Landon Hartman, and Jay Thurman; and her brother, Carl (Linda) Aukschun of Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson, Eli Hartman, and sister, Carol (Wayne) Richards.
There will be visitation from 2:00 – 5:00 pm, Friday, July 3, 2026, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash.
